![]() ![]() Bringing IT Infrastructure back in house Best Practices & General IT.The junior years ,who actually use the interactivity, mainly use it for writing and drawing so a interactive TV with Windows 10 should meet their needs. In Australia my local suppliers can only get one model of smart board imported through the distributor and so we have now planned to completely move away from smartboards in the upper classes and replace them with standard TV's. Our staff don't overly use the full features of the smart board software and I can not justify the high cost of the software. ![]() We are also running an older version of the software as I agree the shift to the subscription model of licensing is way to cost prohibitive. But as you're trying that, give ClassFlow a chance, and see if the formatting holds up better. It may work better for you than it did for us. You should check out SMART's web based whiteboard ( Opens a new window). 11 doesn't work on Mac OS 10.12.5, which made switching to Classflow all the more important. That was exactly our problem with Notebook 11 for Mac! You can't download it anymore, and now that it's the SMART Learning Suite, it's subscription based. Most of our computers take 45 minutes to a hour to install it which means I have to keep coming back and checking on it. Teachers that do use it want it installed in a couple of minutes and ready to use. Our teachers don't use enough of the features to justify the cost. The High cost of upgrading is another issue. I could not get it off there website so I had to use and go back to 2013 to install it from there. It does not store any personal data.Currently our biggest issue is getting it installed due to the fact that we are still running Version 11.
